30 days, 30 poems and a huge array of styles, substance and subject. I plan to write about the experience of picking a poem per day to share on Substack as it has truly transformed how I have consumed and processed poetry and I can feel it shift and shape the writing that is flowing already. There will be a long form piece, more of my own poems and maybe even a workshop or two (keep em peeled…). That said, there was only ever one topic I could finish on, and it’s the one that constantly thrums, leaving me enraged and distraught as it shines a light on injustice, prejudice and deep-rooted racism at the heart of the western world. The poet and poem say it better than I ever could so please do find out more on Sara M Saleh’s Instagram, and have a look at Smoketack Books’ Out of Gaza anthology. It is incredible. And finally, keep banging the drum for a ceasefire and holding those in power to account. Free, Free Palestine x

Day 30 of 30. Poems Read from Scotland
Apr 22, 2024

Poems Read from Scotland
I read poetry to help make sense of the chaos that swirls, and for 30 days from 21 March 2024 I'll be sharing one poem per day right here on daunder.substack.com. These poems will be favourites from writers old and new, known, and yet to be discovered and the posts will be short and in a mish-mash of styles that will muster mindfulness, cajole creativity and hopefully tickle your fancy. Please do lend an ear, comment, share and get involved.
